Recall Alert: Contigo Water Bottles Sold in the US, Canada, and Mexico

The Contigo water bottle recall was initiated in August 2019. That recall now affects the replacement lids.
Major recall: Because of a potential choking hazard, Contigo is recalling around 5.7 million kids cleanable water bottles. The clear silicone spout on the bottle can detach, posing a risk to children, The Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The recall affects models that have a black spout base and black spout cover, which were sold in 13-ounce, 14-ounce and 20-ounce sizes. The recall includes those with designs and those with solid colors or stainless steel.
To date, 149 reports about the spout detaching have been filed, and they’ve ended up in a child’s mouth 18 times.
Stores including Costco, Walmart, and Target sold the bottle nationwide in stores and online for $9 to $24. The recalled bottles were sold between April 2018 and June 2019.
Children should stop using the water bottle immediately and parents should contact Contigo at recall.gocontigo.com or 888-262-0622 from 8 a.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
