About the Program:
Celebrating 40 years in the community, Radcliffe Child Care Center is located in the Heart of Harvard Square, steps from the Charles River. Through our well-trained staff, we offer high-quality group care and education on a fee basis for children 3 months old through 5 years of age. RCCC, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing care to families of Harvard University Faculty and Staff, as well as families within the community. Since 2002 we have been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, a true benchmark of quality facilities. RCCC’s curriculum philosophy is based on respect for children and their families. Our curriculum is designed to respond to development shared by all children but also recognizes individual differences. Our challenge as early educators is to balance the needs of the individual child and family with the needs of the group and community. For each child, we hope to create a setting which: -fosters a strong sense of autonomy and self-confidence, together with a pleasure in others, -nourishes curiosity and helps spark a love of learning, -supports a peaceful and varied approach to problem solving. We believe a curriculum should be child-initiated and firmly grounded in age-appropriate challenges and expectations. Our planning seeks to support the growth of the whole child: physical, social, emotional and intellectual.

Wait List & Priority Enrollment Details:
The admissions process begins with families currently or previously enrolled in the Center. New applications are processed on a first come, first served basis, while considering the needs of the group to ensure a well-balanced mix of ages as well as boys and girls. First preference is given to siblings of currently enrolled children and then to children of Harvard faculty and staff who are paid by the President and Fellows of Harvard College and are benefits-eligible, as verified by the University, and then to children of currently enrolled Harvard students. However, given the constraints of class size, we cannot guarantee space to all those affiliated with the university. In April we begin to contact families if we have a space to offer. We ask that a decision be made promptly so that others are not kept waiting. The enrollment process usually takes six to eight weeks. If we do not have a space for your child you are welcome to remain on our waiting list as places sometimes become available midyear. We keep applications for a year. If a space does become available we will contact you immediately.
