About the Program: 
At Polliwog Preschool, nature ignites curiosity as children explore the living classroom of Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue. Polliwog Preschool is a school-year program for children ages 3-6 that builds a foundation for a lifelong love of science, nature, and learning. The Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center is a partnership between the City of Bellevue and the Pacific Science Center. Parents love Polliwog because of our commitment to hands-on learning, emphasis on social and emotional development, and small teacher-child ratio. Kids love us for the variety of fun and exciting ways we explore the world around us. As one of King County’s oldest nature preschools, we’ve built a reputation for excellence over the past eight years.
Toilet Independence Requirements: 
Due to our unique location, we require children to be potty-trained prior to the start of the year.

Polliwog Preschool is a play-based, nature based program. While we have an indoor classroom space, we go outside every day, regardless of the weather, and spend the majority of our time exploring the Mercer Slough. Spending time outdoors helps children build confidence and social-emotional skills, and our outdoor observations frame our science, math, and literacy learning.

All applications received by February 10, 2019 will be entered into our application lottery. We will inform families of acceptance by February 22 at the latest. In the past, we've typically had a wait list, but wait times vary based on session. In addition, we strive to balance classes by age and gender. There are no fees for our wait list.
