About the Program:
Austin International School is a trilingual private school for families in the Austin area who share a global perspective and value international education. The only school of its kind in the Austin area, Austin International School’s innovative approach, high academic standards, and supportive multicultural community stimulates independent thinking, builds confidence, and broadens perspectives, laying the foundation for success in the global community. Our close-knit and diverse community of students, staff, and parents is a microcosm of Austin, representing 44 countries and speaking 17 languages. A group of local business leaders founded the school in 2001 to provide a high quality international education that meets the demands of an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. Originally the Lycée Français d’Austin (French School of Austin), the school was renamed Austin International School in 2004 to better reflect our mission. After a successful decade, the school purchased a permanent property at 4001 Adelphi Lane in 2011, and after fifteen years working to refine our elementary school's unique Seamless Curriculum, AIS launched its middle school program in August 2017. We have grown from 65 students to more than 200 students. The presence of an established international school is also a major draw for attracting international employees to Austin. We develop global citizens with strong interpersonal skills who will interact positively with people from all cultural backgrounds and adapt to ever-changing international conditions. Through a rigorous, immersive, trilingual curriculum delivered in French, English, and Spanish, we develop our students’ critical thinking skills and pique their intellectual curiosity, preparing them for personal and academic success at AIS and beyond. We inspire all our students to become independent thinkers and to develop their confidence by expanding minds and broadening perspectives.
